The Children and Families Act 2014 has introduced significant changes for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Local authorities are duty-bound to talk about these changes to parents, schools and organisations.

Interlink acts as the interface with Hackney and Haringey local education authorities and the Orthodox Jewish community.

Our role is:

  • To make sure that parents, schools and organisations in the communities understand about policy changes and their entitlements.
  • Feed back to the local authorities the needs of the community.
  • Work with the community and the councils to ensure that as far as possible new developments are inclusive of the Orthodox Jewish community and that future commissioning reflects community needs.
