Safer Recruitment Training

Posted on January 9, 2024

Interlink is running a Safer Recruitment training for men this month. To book your place or for more information, click here.

Our Safer Recruitment Training is designed for trustees, governors, headteachers, safeguarding staff and anyone involved with hiring and supervising new staff members in settings with children and young adults.

Having safer recruitment processes for employees, volunteers and anyone with access to children/young people helps keep dangerous people away from vulnerable children and adults. This is a crucial part of the safeguarding process.

Requirements for schools: The 2023 ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ states: Governing bodies and proprietors [of schools] should ensure that those involved with the recruitment and employment of staff to work with children have received appropriate safer recruitment training, the substance of which should at a minimum cover the content of this part (Part 3) of this guidance.

Requirements for organisationsRecent DfE guidance states that every school, club, business or organisation working or servicing children must have safer recruitment practices in place. It is recommended for organisations to have safer recruitment training too.
