Keeping Children Safe
Phase 2 pilot launched in schools
Teachers from Stamford Hill Girls Schools will join a new programme in February designed to teach children about protecting their personal safety.
Classroom resources, along with teacher training, were first trialed in 2018, with the second phase of this project starting soon. The aim is to create a set of resources, accompanied by teacher training, available widely for schools by the end of 2019.
After an enthusiastic introductory meeting with schools, Interlink will be launching a revised Train the Trainer course in early February 2019 to train up senior staff members from participating schools to deliver Personal Safety workshops in the classroom.
This is an opportunity for schools to demonstrate compliance with PSHE and Relationship curriculum requirements and resources provided will have links to relevant areas. In addition to participating in training, schools will be supported throughout the programme. There are still places for schools wanting to join.
